Memorial Tribute Established Honoring Tom Moeller

A memorial tribute has been established by FTD through the American Floral Endowment (AFE) in honor of Tom Douglas Moeller, who passed away on July 26, 2026, at the age of 62.

Tom dedicated more than 15 years to supporting florists, building meaningful relationships, and strengthening the floral industry through thoughtful leadership. He became known not only for his strategic vision but for his ability to connect with people and inspire those around him. His legacy lives on through the countless friendships he built and the positive impact he had on florist members, colleagues, and the floral community.

After beginning his career in consumer-packaged goods with Nabisco, Schering Plough, and the William Wrigley Jr. Company, Tom joined FTD in 2010. He led the company’s Florist Division for 11 years before taking a break to consult for Passion Roses, returning to FTD in 2023 to serve as President of Florist Partnerships & Operations. Throughout his tenure, Tom focused on strengthening relationships with florist members and improving the value and support FTD provided to its network.

“Tom dedicated more than 15 years to the floral industry, joining FTD in 2010 and serving in a variety of leadership roles throughout his career,” said Mike Chapin, Chief Executive Officer of FTD. “He was a passionate and inspiring leader whose energy, optimism, and commitment to success left a lasting impact on FTD and our florist members. He will be missed not only for his professional contributions, but also for the relationships he built and the positive influence he had on colleagues, florist members, and everyone who had the privilege of working with him.”

Throughout his career, Tom remained dedicated to giving back to the floral industry beyond his professional responsibilities. He was a longtime supporter of AFE, and to continue that legacy, the memorial tribute will benefit the FTD Fund at AFE, established in 2013. During AFE’s Annual Dinner that year, FTD was recognized for their generous contributions, under Tom’s leadership, to the Endowment. The fund reflects FTD’s longstanding commitment to strengthening the floral industry.

Born in Spirit Lake, Iowa, and raised in Waverly, Tom carried the values of his Midwest upbringing throughout his life. He earned his degree in Business Administration and Marketing from Wartburg College, where he met his wife of 40 years, Jennifer. Together, they raised three daughters, Lauren, Addison, and Maggie, while Tom’s career took their family across the country and introduced them to lifelong friendships. His greatest joy was always the people closest to him, including his grandson, Wesley, who affectionately knew him as “Grandpa Tom,” and his 5-week-old granddaughter, Grace. His full obituary can be read here.

A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, August 7, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Sullivan Funeral Home, 60 South Grant Street, Hinsdale, Illinois. In the spirit of all things Tom loved, guests are welcome to wear Iowa Hawkeye gear or black and gold attire. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 139 East First Street, Hinsdale, Illinois.

You can honor Tom’s memory with a donation to the Tom Moeller Memorial Tribute, benefiting the FTD Fund. Contributions can be made online here or by sending a check with this form to AFE.
