Call for Applications!
AFE is now accepting applications for
2021 Educational Grants.
The application deadline is June 1.
AFE has opened applications for their 2021-2022 educational grants. The deadline for submission is June 1st, 2021. AFE’s educational grants help fund programs that are wide-reaching educational endeavors that solve industry needs and challenges and focus on education and/or attracting young people to the industry.
AFE welcomes applications from industry organizations and universities that host local to national industry-wide events, student events, and even virtual learning opportunities. AFE’s educational grant funding provides financial assistance to support educational opportunities of all kinds. The Endowment is committed to providing funding for a variety of resources empowering everyone to invest in their continued education.
Over the last 60 years, the Endowment funded over $1.6 million in educational grants. During the 2019-2020 cycle, AFE awarded $50,200 to support 16 educational programs at the local, regional, and national levels.
Here are some examples of programs funded through AFE educational grants:
- The National Floriculture Forum, which unites professors, extension specialists, graduate students, scientists and other industry leaders for a multi-day collaborative meeting that addresses important floriculture issues.
- National Industry Conventions or Event Programs including Virtual Events, collaborating and sponsoring national, state, and local association educational programs. AFE understands many in-person events have been put on hold and has expanded our funding to reach virtual events — adapting to the industry’s needs during the pandemic.
- Seed Your Future, a national movement created to attract more talented young people to careers in horticulture and change the public perception of horticulture.
All requests are renewed on an annual basis with funding dependent on the amount of funds available.
