Fred C. Gloeckner Research/ Education Grant Application

Guidelines

  • The Fred C. Gloeckner Foundation Research Fund awards grants for research and educational projects in floriculture and related fields at universities, colleges, and Federal research institutions in the United States.
  • Grant applications must be submitted on or before April 1st for consideration at the spring meeting, where applications are reviewed and decisions made. The grant applicant is informed of the decision shortly thereafter, and checks for approved grants are mailed the following August.
  • For any supporting documents uploaded, please number the pages, use space and a half, no less than a 12 point font. If these specifications are not followed, the proposal will be returned to the researcher(s). Include images if critical for understanding of the proposal.
  • As one prepares the financial information, think of a September to August research year, rather than a calendar year. Please include a Budget Page.
  • Include anticipated duration of the project. Grants are awarded for one year only, and may be evaluated and considered for renewal upon receipt of a progress report, plans for the coming year, and a written request for continuation of funding. It cannot be assumed that renewal will be approved automatically.
  • At the completion of a project, please send a final report (reprints or theses are acceptable) to Laura Barth, AFE Research Coordinator, at lbarth@afeendowment.org. In publications, a footnote acknowledging financial support of the Fred C. Gloeckner Foundation Research Fund through AFE will be appreciated.
  • Please e-mail a pdf of the progress report to Laura Barth, AFE Research Coordinator, at lbarth@afeendowment.org. You may choose to have us delay the posting of your Progress Report if it is considered “Confidential”. Please inform us of the length of the delay that is necessary.

For any questions about your application, please reach out to Laura Barth, AFE Research Coordinator, at lbarth@afeendowment.org,
