Call for Applications: Arizona Retail Florist Education Travel Grant 2021
Arizona Retail Florist Education Travel Grant
Deadline Extended to December 17th, 2021
The Arizona Retail Florist Education Travel Grant was established in 2017 to assist florists from Arizona in traveling to national industry events for educational programs and to provide networking opportunities on a national level. The application deadline has been extended – apply by December 17th!
The grant is open to owners, managers, and employees of traditional retail florists with a brick and mortar storefront in Arizona.
Each year, one recipient will be selected by AFE’s Education Committee to receive the travel grant of up to $1,000 to help cover the cost of attending an out-of-state industry educational event.
Examples of eligible opportunities include floral design schools, SAF Convention, FTD Boot Camp, Floriology Institute, Teleflora Academy Events, SAF Profit Blast, State or Regional Floral Conventions, Cultivate, PFCI classes, AIFD Symposiums, and others.
The exception to the out-of-state travel requirement would be if a national program (like SAF Convention or AIFD Symposium) were held within Arizona, which would still allow for exposure to fellow out-of-state retail florists and floral industry members.
2019 Recipient Bre Schindler, AIFD
PJ’s Flowers and Events – Phoenix, Arizona.
Bre’s travel was postponed due to COVID-19, however, Bre will be attending AIFD Symposium in Las Vegas, Nevada in 2022.“After not being able to travel or gather with our flower family for 2020 and most of 2021, I am so excited to finally be able to use the 2019 AZ Retail Florist Education Travel Grant to attend the AIFD Symposium in Las Vegas in 2022! I believe education is one of our most important tools as designers, both for ourselves and our clients- and, to me, AIFD Symposium is the pinnacle of education and innovation in our industry. Thank you so much to the American Floral Endowment for awarding me this grant and aiding me in my effort to always be learning and growing. I can’t wait to bring new knowledge and inspiration back to our clients! “
Apply by December 17th (for travel in 2022).
