New Study Provides Insight on Purchasing Barriers for Non-Flower Buyers

The Floral Marketing Research Fund (FMRF) has released results from a study that provides new data about the barriers to and motivations for purchasing flowers. One interesting finding was that eight in 10 adults surveyed do not plan on buying flowers in the next 12 months. Could price incentives, coupons, discounts, lower shipping offers or guarantees for vase life and delivery times change this?

Floral Plant Giveaway Aims to Boost Horticulture Enrollment

AFE and Altman Plants supplied plants to North Carolina State University for a Floral Plant Give-Away Project in fall 2012 in an effort to recruit new horticulture students. The project also demonstrates the important psychological and physical benefits attached to plants.

AFE Memorial Tribute Established for Ed and Dorothy Niklas

A memorial tribute has been established within AFE honoring Ed and Dorothy Niklas. Ed, former president of Clackamas Greenhouses, Inc. in Oregon, died Sept. 16 at age 93, and Dorothy passed away Nov. 20, 2008. Donations to the tribute can be made online by specifying the donation is for the Ed and Dorothy Niklas Memorial Tribute in the "description" box.
