{"id":8176,"date":"2024-02-13T17:42:46","date_gmt":"2024-02-13T17:42:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/afe.epicenter1.com\/?post_type=resource&#038;p=8176"},"modified":"2024-02-13T17:56:38","modified_gmt":"2024-02-13T17:56:38","slug":"vic-margaret-ball-internship-faculty-information","status":"publish","type":"resource","link":"https:\/\/endowment.org\/es\/resource\/vic-margaret-ball-internship-faculty-information","title":{"rendered":"Vic &#038; Margaret Ball Internship \u2013 Faculty Information"},"content":{"rendered":"<div\n\tid=\"block_192888a518b1fb344fed38a9299e2b34\"\n\tclass=\"nmc-block nmc-block--masthead alignfull  -no-image\">\n\t  \t\t\t<div class=\"masthead_content\">\n\t<div class=\"bound boundwide\">\n\t\t<h1 class=\"masthead_title\">Vic &#038; Margaret Ball Internship \u2013 Faculty Information<\/h1>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\t<\/div>\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Faculty Members play a critical role in preparing students for the future.<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Encouraging students to apply for the Vic and Margaret Ball Intern Scholarship will allow them to receive diverse hands-on experience and gain a unique opportunity to learn in a commercial environment.&nbsp; In addition, students who successfully complete an AFE internship receive a significant cash scholarship and develop critical skills, potentially improving employment opportunities.&nbsp; All students seeking a career path in floriculture production should apply for this intern scholarship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br><strong>Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>&nbsp;Faculty members are required to submit a letter of recommendation for each student that applies for the Vic &amp; Margaret Ball Intern Scholarship.&nbsp; The letter should specifically evaluate the student carefully and honestly, considering ability, quality of work, and potential as a future member of the floral industry.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If a student is awarded an internship opportunity, the faculty and student will develop&nbsp;<strong>\u201cobjectives\u201d<\/strong>&nbsp;for what the student should learn during the internship that will be shared with the host employer.&nbsp; These objectives will be agreed on prior to the start of the internship.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Responsibilities During Internship:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>&nbsp;Faculty members should communicate frequently with the Intern during their internship.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>BONUS!&nbsp; Travel to the internship site to monitor progress, if possible.
