Mosmiller Jr. provide the main source of financial support for the Mosmiller Scholar Program. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Colonel Mosmiller, a past chairman of the Endowment and a former retail florist in Richmond, Va., demonstrated a strong, lifelong interest in professional training and encouraged young people to pursue careers in the floral industry. The Endowment established this program to honor the Mosmillers and express a meaningful extension of their industry dedication.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This Program began in 1975 to provide quality professional training for selected, motivated floriculture and environmental horticulture students. Business students planning careers in the floral industry became eligible in 1993 when the training focused on a retail\/wholesale experience. Students receive paid training and a $2,000 scholarship upon successful completion. Those completing the program are known as Mosmiller Scholars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"overview\">Internship Overview<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em><strong>Please read the overview thoroughly prior to completing the online application form.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-left\">Accompanying Documents<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The application packet requires the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/endowment.org\/es\/recurso\/mosmiller-intership-application\/\">submission of the online application<\/a>.<\/strong> However, prior to completing the application form, make sure you have prepared\/gathered the following documents:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading is-style-heading-5\"><strong>A Personal Statement<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The personal statement should be one page and include your past and current involvement in floriculture activities, your expectations from the program, and your future career goals in the industry.&nbsp;This is attached to the online application.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Official Transcripts&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Official transcripts from your College\/University must be submitted.&nbsp; AFE will not accept copies.&nbsp;<strong>This must be submitted directly from your college\/university.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Color Photo<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Submit a color photo to be used in promotional communications should you be awarded an internship.&nbsp;This is attached to the online application.<strong>&nbsp;<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Resume<\/strong>&nbsp; <\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Must submitted in PDF format<strong>.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Letter of Recommendation<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A Faculty Advisor must write a letter of recommendation on behalf of the applicant. Once you submit your application, your advisor will automatically be notified to provide you with a letter of recommendation. student certifies all the information provided on the application is true and complete, and understands that any misstatement, falsification, or omission of information shall be grounds for rejection of the application or disqualification.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The student agrees to mutually complete the Internship Goal Sheet with the placement employer.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The student will be disqualified from the program for inappropriate behavior such as any physical or verbal altercations with the employer and\/or employees, any illegal use of alcohol or drugs, or any other such behaviors.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The student understands that if he\/she does not complete the agreed time period, he\/she will be disqualified from the program and might not receive the scholarship.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The student agrees to acknowledge support for the Mosmiller Internship Program in any type of public relations, press releases, or other type of publicity concerning the internship.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The student agrees to perform an exit interview with the employer prior to their last day of employment, as well as complete a brief report of the experience (minimum of 500 words) within thirty (30) days of completion.
