We moved the deadline back from June to August to be mindful of busy academic calendars during May and June. This updated deadline will give our researchers more time to work on their proposals.<\/p><p>The primary research priorities are listed below. They are focused on all floricultural crops \u2013 fresh-cut flowers, fresh-cut greens, flowering potted plants, foliage plants,\u00a0and bedding plants.<\/p><ul><li>Control y gesti\u00f3n de Botrytis<a href=\"https:\/\/endowment.org\/es\/research-proposal-forms-timeline\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/endowment.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/imported-files\/cdbcb9e8-35f5-478f-8217-439877aba62d-scaled.jpeg\" alt=\"flower image for research article\" width=\"250\" height=\"166\" data-file-id=\"1755633\"><\/a><\/li><li>Control y manejo de trips<\/li><li>Biocontrol of Pests<\/li><li>Postharvest Technology<\/li><li>Tecnolog\u00eda de producci\u00f3n<\/li><li>Tecnolog\u00eda de reproducci\u00f3n avanzada, incluido CRISPR<\/li><li>Long-Term Storage and Shipping Conditions for Cut Flowers, Bedding and Potted Plants<\/li><li>Automation and Technology Leading to Labor Savings<\/li><li>Sustainable Production and Handling Practices<\/li><li>Reduce the Impact of Climate Change on Production, Handling, and Product Quality<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>As a reminder, the\u00a0application process allows for a single application form to be used.<\/strong>\u00a0This updated application streamlines the researcher\u2019s request for funding.<\/p><p>Projects can last from one to three years and any reasonable but justifiable budget will be considered.<\/p><p>For the current 2021-2022\u00a0cycle, the Endowment is <a href=\"https:\/\/endowment.org\/es\/new-research-projects-funded-2021\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>funding more than $600,000\u00a0in research<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0for <strong>7 new projects and 6<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>continuing projects<\/strong>.<\/p><p>AFE\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/endowment.org\/es\/currently-funded-research\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>currently-funded research<\/strong><\/a> is available online, as well as <a href=\"https:\/\/endowment.org\/es\/afe-floriculture-and-horticulture-research-reports\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>final reports<\/strong><\/a> from previously funded projects.
