Esta ha sido la nueva palabra de moda no solo en la industria de la floricultura, sino tambi\u00e9n en la vida cotidiana. \u201cVida sostenible\u201d, \u201cproductos sostenibles\u201d y \u201cde origen sostenible\u201d son t\u00e9rminos comunes que se utilizan en materiales de marketing y promoci\u00f3n. Sin embargo, \u00bfqu\u00e9 significa sostenibilidad? \u00bfC\u00f3mo podemos, como industria, ser m\u00e1s sostenibles?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignright size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"600\" src=\"https:\/\/endowment.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Untitled-600-\u00d7-600-px.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-19453\" style=\"width:348px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/endowment.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Untitled-600-\u00d7-600-px.png 600w, https:\/\/endowment.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Untitled-600-\u00d7-600-px-300x300.png 300w, https:\/\/endowment.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Untitled-600-\u00d7-600-px-150x150.png 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A trav\u00e9s de un proyecto especial dirigido y financiado por el American Floral Endowment, el Dr. Brian Jackson y yo (la Dra. Melinda Knuth) nos hemos propuesto descubrir, compilar y proporcionar las mejores pr\u00e1cticas para la sostenibilidad en la floricultura.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nuestro primer objetivo es recopilar, analizar y sintetizar toda la informaci\u00f3n relevante sobre sostenibilidad que sea pertinente para la floricultura o las industrias adyacentes a la floricultura. Una vez que toda esta informaci\u00f3n est\u00e9 sintetizada y depurada, se convertir\u00e1 en recursos aplicables y utilizables por todas las empresas, peque\u00f1as o grandes, dentro de la cadena de suministro de la floricultura. Este proyecto abarcar\u00e1 no solo a los productores y proveedores, sino tambi\u00e9n a los minoristas y a lo que prefiere el consumidor final.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">En este esfuerzo, celebraremos mesas redondas de la industria en IPM Essen, Cultivate y otros eventos importantes de la industria. Para garantizar que la informaci\u00f3n sea accesible para los miembros de la industria, se crear\u00e1 un Grupo de Trabajo de Sostenibilidad compuesto por l\u00edderes de la industria. Los miembros del Grupo de Trabajo participar\u00e1n directamente en el desarrollo de los recursos generados. Cada patrocinador tendr\u00e1 un asiento en el Grupo de Trabajo, incluidos Altman Plants, Armellini Logistics, Ball Horticultural Company, Kennicott Brothers Company, Mayesh Wholesale Florist, Smithers-Oasis y Tagawa Greenhouses. Todav\u00eda hay patrocinios disponibles y necesarios para ayudar a impulsar esta importante iniciativa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A trav\u00e9s de la colaboraci\u00f3n con la AFE, lanzaremos estos recursos hasta finales de 2023 y principios de 2024.
