Un tributo conmemorativo en honor a Nicholas Ignatius Paul ha sido establecido por Georgianna y Dennis Paul a trav\u00e9s de la Fundaci\u00f3n Floral Americana (AFE).<\/p>\n

Nicholas Ignatius Paul \u201cNick\u201d (cari\u00f1osamente conocido como \u201cChief\u201d por sus colegas) de la empresa Paul\u2019s Wholesale Florist Company falleci\u00f3 el 14 de enero de 2023, a la edad de 82 a\u00f1os. Fue un miembro dedicado de la industria floral durante m\u00e1s de 60 a\u00f1os. Sus \u00faltimos d\u00edas los pas\u00f3 con su familia y amigos a su lado, tal como lo hab\u00eda hecho toda su vida.<\/p>\n

Tras la muerte de su padre en 1961, Nick y su hermano Dennis se convirtieron en los propietarios de Paul\u2019s Wholesale Florist Company. Dedicaron sus vidas a la empresa, que hab\u00eda sido fundada por su padre en 1937. Este legado inspir\u00f3 la pasi\u00f3n y el compromiso de Nick con la industria floral.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Siendo j\u00f3venes (y quiz\u00e1s idealistas), los hermanos Paul decidieron que, si iban a pasar sus vidas en el negocio que hab\u00edan heredado, quer\u00edan establecer una relaci\u00f3n de trabajo m\u00e1s cordial entre sus competidores. Entre muchos otros desaf\u00edos en ese momento, esta era su misi\u00f3n.<\/span><\/p>

En 1986, Nick desempe\u00f1\u00f3 un papel fundamental en el desarrollo de una relaci\u00f3n de confianza con los socios mayoristas de la empresa, lo que dio lugar al traslado conjunto de McCallum Sauber Florist Inc., A. Gude Sons, el Washington Florists\u2019 Exchange y Paul\u2019s Wholesale Florist. C. se hab\u00eda vuelto dif\u00edcil para las compras en persona debido al espacio limitado, el tr\u00e1fico y el estacionamiento. La nueva y m\u00e1s amplia ubicaci\u00f3n en Eckington Place, NE permiti\u00f3 que cada negocio tuviera y fuera due\u00f1o de su propio espacio y se convirti\u00f3 en el Centro de Flores de Washington.<\/span><\/p>

Los hermanos Nick y Dennis fueron socios mancomunados durante todo el proyecto, lo que en \u00faltima instancia ayud\u00f3 a impulsar el desarrollo comercial y residencial conocido hoy como North of Massachusetts Avenue (NOMA).<\/span><\/p>

Como entusiasta de la industria, Nick se desempe\u00f1\u00f3 como exdirector de la Asociaci\u00f3n de Floristas Aliados del Gran Washington, fue partidario de la Dotaci\u00f3n Floral Estadounidense (AFE) y miembro de la Asociaci\u00f3n de Mayoristas y Proveedores de Floristas (WF&FSA) y de la Sociedad de Floristas Estadounidenses (SAF).<\/span><\/p>

Nick tambi\u00e9n era mas\u00f3n del grado 32, miembro de la Logia St. John n.\u00ba 11, en Washington, D. C., y miembro vitalicio del Club de Motociclistas DC Ramblers.<\/span><\/p>

A Nick le sobreviven su amada esposa durante 39 a\u00f1os, June; sus hijas, Mary Elizabeth Duke (Andrew) y Catherine Geasling; sus nietos, Ann Duke y James Duke; su hermano Dennis Paul (Georgianna), y otros familiares a quienes amaba profundamente. A Nick le precedieron en la muerte su querido sobrino James D. Paul II (Christiana), quien fue su socio comercial durante quince a\u00f1os.<\/span><\/p>
