Cade is a professor of horticulture at Texas State University, while Kepner is Senior Vice President of Production, Research and Development for Pure Beauty Farms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignleft size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"481\" height=\"481\" src=\"https:\/\/endowment.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/Tina-2-edited.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-25887\" style=\"width:306px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/endowment.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/Tina-2-edited.jpg 481w, https:\/\/endowment.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/Tina-2-edited-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/endowment.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/Tina-2-edited-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/endowment.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/Tina-2-edited-12x12.jpg 12w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 481px) 100vw, 481px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tina has spent the past 25 years building the horticulture program at Texas State University, where she is a professor and faculty manager of several campus facilities, including the agriculture greenhouses and gardens. She also oversees the university\u2019s award-winning Bobcat Blend campus composting program and frequently works with more than 30 undergraduate student employees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A Fellow of the American Society for Horticultural Science, Tina is also a Service Learning Excellence Fellow at Texas State University, where she promotes hands-on learning and connections between the university and surrounding community. She has mentored 35 graduate students throughout her career, with five continuing on to earn their Ph.D.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Her research focuses on sustainability, interactions between people and plants, invasive species, composting, and service learning. She is the co-editor and co-author of <em>Urban Horticulture<\/em> and has published more than 100 peer-reviewed papers. Cade earned her bachelor\u2019s and master\u2019s degrees from Kansas State University and her doctorate from Texas A&amp;M University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignright size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"369\" height=\"369\" src=\"https:\/\/endowment.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/Image-1-edited.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-25885\" style=\"width:293px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/endowment.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/Image-1-edited.png 369w, https:\/\/endowment.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/Image-1-edited-300x300.png 300w, https:\/\/endowment.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/Image-1-edited-150x150.png 150w, https:\/\/endowment.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/Image-1-edited-12x12.png 12w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 369px) 100vw, 369px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tim brings more than 40 years of horticulture industry experience to the committee. As Senior Vice President of Production, Research and Development for Pure Beauty Farms, he oversees production planning and scheduling across the company\u2019s Florida, Georgia, and Texas farms, which produce more than 50 million plants annually. He also leads Pure Beauty\u2019s Research and Development Team, helping introduce new plant material and genetics to the market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tim was brought onto the Vic &amp; Margaret Ball Committee to serve as an additional grower representative. He was selected to bring his grower perspective to the committee\u2019s discussions and internship reviews.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In 2003, Tim joined Pure Beauty Farms to help bring owner Henry Yanes\u2019 vision for the company to life. Since then, he has held several leadership roles and played an important part in the company\u2019s growth and development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As members of the Ball Committee, Tina and Tim will be working with several AFE Trustees and other faculty members to review student applications for the <a href=\"https:\/\/endowment.org\/es\/practicas-2\/\"><strong>Programa de Becas Internas Vic &amp; Margaret Ball<\/strong><\/a> and provide counsel to help promote the program to students.
