Se ha establecido un tributo conmemorativo dentro de la AFE en honor a William C. \u201cBill\u201d Belden, presidente de la empresa Oscar G. Carlstedt en Jacksonville, Florida. Belden falleci\u00f3 el 1 de enero de 2013 a la edad de 82 a\u00f1os.<\/p>\n

La empresa Pete Garcia Company de Atlanta estableci\u00f3 el homenaje en honor a Belden, quien hab\u00eda estado lidiando con varios problemas de salud durante algunos a\u00f1os.<\/p>\n

\u201cEsto deber\u00eda abrir muchas oportunidades para que nuestra industria recuerde a Bill\u201d, dijo Pete Garcia, director ejecutivo de Pete Garcia Company.<\/p>\n

La esposa de Belden, Emily, estuvo a su lado durante sus \u00faltimos momentos y otros miembros de la familia tambi\u00e9n se encontraban cerca.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Belden, originario de Xenia, Ohio, pas\u00f3 la mayor parte de su vida en la industria floral. Comenz\u00f3 su carrera en la empresa Oscar G. Carlstedt como conductor de cami\u00f3n, pero la dej\u00f3 para servir en la Fuerza A\u00e9rea de los Estados Unidos. Regres\u00f3 a la empresa despu\u00e9s de su servicio militar y fue asignado a las sucursales de West Palm Beach y Miami, y m\u00e1s tarde fue nombrado gerente de la tienda de Fort Lauderdale. En 1965, fue nombrado presidente.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bill era dedicado a su familia, empresa, amigos, proveedores y a toda la industria floral. Sirvi\u00f3 en organizaciones locales, estatales y nacionales, incluyendo: la Asociaci\u00f3n de Floristas del Estado de Florida (Florida State Florists Association) y varios comit\u00e9s en la Sociedad de Floristas Americanos (SAF). Fue presidente de los Floristas Mayoristas y Proveedores de Floristas de Am\u00e9rica (WF&FSA) y fue fideicomisario de la AFE. Adem\u00e1s, recibi\u00f3 el Premio al Servicio Distinguido Leland T.
