Un tributo conmemorativo ha sido establecido por miembros de la industria Lori, Brian y Tanner Wheat de Lafayette Florists en Colorado, Charles Ingrum de Dr. Delphinium en Dallas, Texas, y el Midwest Group para honrar a Shelby Shy, quien falleci\u00f3 el 8 de mayo de 2019 a la edad de 38 a\u00f1os.<\/p>\n

Shelby era un miembro muy querido de la industria, a la que se incorpor\u00f3 con tan solo 14 a\u00f1os al empezar a trabajar en el negocio de su familia, Shirley\u2019s Flower Studio en Rogers, Arkansas. Shelby es hija de Jo y Randy Buttram.<\/p>\n

Tras graduarse de la Universidad de Kansas con un t\u00edtulo en Comunicaci\u00f3n Empresarial, Shelby regres\u00f3 al noroeste de Arkansas y trabaj\u00f3 como compradora de ropa para Wal-Mart durante 8 a\u00f1os. Regres\u00f3 para trabajar en el negocio floral de su familia y trabaj\u00f3 durante 7 a\u00f1os. A partir de este momento, se convirti\u00f3 en un miembro conocido de la comunidad de la industria floral. En 2017, Shelby fund\u00f3 su propia firma de consultor\u00eda, Coleman-Brooks Consulting.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Se desempe\u00f1\u00f3 como presidenta de la AFA y en su junta directiva. Shelby es una expresidenta de la Asociaci\u00f3n de Floristas de Arkansas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tambi\u00e9n particip\u00f3 activamente en la Society for American Florists (Sociedad de Floristas Estadounidenses), como l\u00edder de un grupo de voluntariado que ayud\u00f3 con sesiones educativas regionales y form\u00f3 parte de su Comit\u00e9 de Marketing de Consumo. Posee el honor de la SAF de ser miembro de la American Academy of Floriculture (AAF).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cShelby aport\u00f3 una energ\u00eda, positividad e innovaci\u00f3n tan hermosas a sus contribuciones a SAF. Fue muy generosa con sus ideas como miembro de nuestros comit\u00e9s y consejos\u201d, dijo la directora ejecutiva de SAF, Kate Penn. \u201cA cualquier cosa que le pidi\u00e9ramos que hiciera \u2014ya fuera participar en un art\u00edculo, o desarrollar y liderar un programa para la convenci\u00f3n\u2014, ella dec\u00eda que \u2018s\u00ed\u2019. Su esp\u00edritu generoso era muy inspirador. \u00a1Adem\u00e1s, era muy divertido estar cerca de ella!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adem\u00e1s de sus padres, a Shelby le sobreviven sus dos hijos, Brooks y Coleman, y otros familiares.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
