IRA Bloom

IRA in bloom

Is your IRA in full bloom?

Do something great (and tax-smart)!

If you’re 72 (or better) you must take a required minimum distribution (RMD)from your IRA. This extra income may affect your adjusted gross income (AGI) and put you in a higher tax bracket, too. Consider making a direct donation from your IRA to the Floral Endowment, an eligible nonprofit organization. This type of gift is called a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD).

How to make a Qualified Charitable Distribution to American Floral Endowment:

  • You may be able to make your QCD gift online. Visit your retirement plan provider’s website to see if this is an option.

  • If your account has check-writing privileges, you may write a check directly to “American Floral Endowment” and mail it to the address below.

  • Some brokerage may have a required IRA distribution form, so it is important to check with your plan provider if you cannot make the gift online or with a check.

  • If you are considering this type of gift, or have already made one, please contact Debi Chedester (her information is below).

*Important: Your QCD must be made by the end of the year to satisfy your Required Minimum Distribution.
